What a tremendous experience it was to tour The Winter Palace and Hermitage Museum of Saint Petersburg this morning. 👑 Home of Russian royalty and now housing one of the worlds greatest collections of fine art 🖼 this entire structure is a masterpiece. Feeling so lucky to spend time in this great city of Europe and the world. The people of Saint Petersburg have been fantastic and I loved experiencing Russia 🇷🇺 - a very open, warm and welcoming people. It's been over a month since @phillymike999 and I have traveled anywhere outside of Copenhagen. This is awesome, but not normal for us. When we first decided to expat, we eagerly started booking excursions to see as much of Europe as possible. Discount airfare made it easy and cheap to make our way around the region and we covered a lot of ground. While this was amazing, it kept us from really living in Copenhagen and making it home. This delay has been made up for by now, but when I look back at our first 6 months in Denmark, I wish we stayed put a little more. We get flowers every Friday. I don’t buy them for @phillymike999 and he doesn’t buy them for me - no matter who makes the purchase, WE just get flowers every week. I used to do it for myself when I was single, and I think everyone should buy themselves flowers on Fridays. For me it was always a nice thing to have flowers in my apartment for the weekend. It’s called self-care. No one should have to wait for someone to buy them flowers when they deserve it themselves. Plus it’s not really that grand of a gesture, you can get a nice bouquet in the grocery store for $5-20, so take care of yourself. By the time they die, it’s Friday again and you get more 🌸 😃 Today though, I found these pink sticks. I had a couple glasses of wine and they looked like just what we needed 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️ Luckily the flowers from last week are still alive too.
